“I’m excited that it appears we may have started a wonderful family tradition celebrating the Borough of Fair Haven that began with our 2012 Centennial Celebration,” said FH Foundation President and Town Councilwoman Susan Sorensen. “Last year, our first actual Fair Haven Day was such a special day for so many that we wanted to continue to celebrate Fair Haven. The feeling of community is palpable all day and everyone really enjoys it all with their family and friends," Sorensen continued. “We have and exciting new menu for along with some other terrific additions to continue to have another outstanding event.”
A very dedicated committee and team of volunteers has been working on the event for many months and are excited to have great support from the community and surrounding towns. Many of the new features are thanks to generous sponsorships from JCP&L, Saker Shop Rite, Shea Communications, Boynton & Boynton, 1st Constitution Bank, Smart Start Preschool, FH Karate & Martial Arts, Kick, Meadowflower Preschool, Daisy Chocolates, Mario Valencio of Gloria Nielson Realtors, Bob Henry and one of our biggest supporters for all our events – the Fair Haven Business Association who want to remind all of us to “keep it local”. Brennan’s Deli of Rumson with Caryn McCann and her crew return with a new Picnic Menu to please all ages. It will feature many of the famous Brennan’s style sandwiches and salads along with hot dogs. Pricing is one size fits all and they are $10 per plate. Soft drinks and water are included. Thanks to Fair Haven resident Doug Douty and owner of Lusty Lobster there will be a raw bar option at $5 per serving with a selection of fresh seafood and for 3 tickets ($15 total) you can also enjoy the renowned Lusty Lobster Roll. And then save some room for dessert – Fair Haven’s Booskerdoo will be there with homemade ice cream sandwiches with some coffee – (iced or hot) for $2. Tickets are now available at Borough Hall and there will be very little available for sale the day of the event, so get them now. Food will be served starting at 5pm and returning will be a Beer and Sangria Garden offering a selection of beverages, additional cost with proper ID, opening at 5pm.
As in years past, please remember the “Ground Rules” – no dogs, no outside alcohol, no personal tents and no grills/open flames – and please remember to help us keep Fair Haven Fields clean - we want to continue to keep this new tradition ongoing and abiding by these rules will help us be able to do this year after year.
Bring your blankets, chairs and the whole family for a spectacular day of community at it’s finest. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, June 14th (rain date, Sunday, June 15th) to truly kick-off the Summer Fair Haven Style.
