The Gangster Squad came together after Vincent's performance in Woody Allen's Broadway Production of Bullets over Broadway...while backstage he announced to the cast "I'm forming a band...I'm calling it Gangster Squad". Vincent contacted some of the best musicians to come out of the famed Crazy Horse Cafe in New Rochelle, New York, back in the 80s; a club Vincent owned and operated that had band 6 nights a week.
Band Members include...Eddie Denise, bass who now plays with Dion; Al Orlo who performs in "Beautiful" on Broadway and with the late Ben E King; Charlie Powers who worked with Jackson Browne and Phoebe Snow; the Baron on sax who works with Darlene Love and Tours with the Blues Brothers Band; Frank Pisani on piano and vocals; Musical Coordinator Senn with many many bands in the tri-state area; Tony "Bocci" Amato, a Jersey Guy who plays the hammond and has his own band 'Baccigaule and the Bad Boys' and has been part of the Asbury Park scene since the 80s and Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore former club owner, now actor, producer, writer, and singer.
The repertoire includes blues, soul, rock 'n' roll and some doo-wop from the 50s, and is a great show for all ages. Some songs include On Broadway, Stand by Me, Chantilly Lace, Evil Ways, Wild Nights, The Wanderers, My Girl, No Woman No Cry, Brown Sugar.
About Vincent Pastore
Welcome to the world of Vincent Pastore. A former bar owner from New Rochelle, New York, Vincent discovered acting late in life (at the insistence of Matt Dillon and his brother Kevin,) and since, it has become his calling. A versatile actor, he has appeared on Broadway in the smash hit, "Chicago" as Amos Hart, Woody Allan’s “Bullets over Broadway” and recently appeard in “Queen for a Day” with David Proval. Having appeared in several movies including "Revolver", "Gotti", "This Thing of Ours", "Mickey Blue Eyes", "Mafia", "The Jerky Boys", "Made", "Two Family House" and "Hurricane" with Denzel Washington (to name a few), Vincent is also a familiar face on television. Besides playing the character, Big Pussy Bonpensiero, on "The Sopranos", Vincent has also made television appearances on NBC's "Ed", VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club", "The Practice", "Witness to the Mob", "Law & Order", the Soap Opera, "One Life to Live", “General Hospital” "Americas Most Wanted", and "Vegas," and more recently on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" and “Shark Tank”. Besides of all this, he has also found the time to be the host on the "Repo Man" television series, traveling all over the United States, to recover unpaid secured debts. Vinny has graciously dedicated his time to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer/Mitchell Berke Memorial Fund and Walter Reade General Hospital, as well as benefits for World Hunger and the Wounded Warriors, and will do anything for his fellow Sopranos Family. And, in his spare time, he performs with his band, “The Gangster Squad”.
About Lead Vocalist, Keyboard Player Boccigalupe
Boccigalupe - Lead Vocals, Keyboards & Actor - was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and is truly an Asbury musician and the baby of the Upstage Gang, which included Margaret Potter, Big Bobby Williams, Vini "Maddog" Lopez, Sonny Kenn, Bruce Springsteen, Little Steven Van Zandt, Southside Johnny and most of the E Street Band.
Bocci, started his music career at age 7 playing drums with Ringo Starr and Dino Danelli as his influences. At 11 he started playing with some of the local bands and found his calling in life, MUSIC. At age 13 it was time to start a band of his own, centering on Rock N' Roll, the band also had a female singer, a little red head. It wasn't until 15 years later, he found out it was Patti Scialfa.
A few years later, the Asbury Park Band "Cahoots" was born. Cahoots was Boccigalupe, Little John Luraschi, Steve Schreager, Mike Scialfa, (Patti's brother) Tommy Labella, ( the little sax player from 10,000 ) John Oser and George Theiss (We all know him, from The Castles.) Cahoots managed to get a record deal from Columbia with help from Bruce and John Landau, but egos went flying, and the band broke up.
Ever since then, Boccigalupe has been playing with local and national acts like Gary US Bonds, Clarence Clemons, and a host of others just to keep himself busy. And now he presents to you his own project, Boccigalupe and The Badboys. Oh, the name Boccigalupe means: off centered, a little crazy or kind of nuts; he received this title from Bruce & Little Steven and it Stuck.
He has performed with: Ecstasy, The Clique, Nicky Don & Co. The Brothers & Sisters, Dzae, Cahoots, Cold, Blast & Steel II, The Z - Band, George Theiss, Bee Gees, Big Danny & The Boppers, Hot Romance, Clarence Clemons & The Red Bank Rockers, Bill Chinnock, Bobby Rydell, Gary US Bonds, Bruce Springsteen and on and on.
Boccigalupe is also in a supporting role in the movie "Backstage Pass" with William Katt a Carman Production Film to be released in December of 2004.
