Yes, I said “lights”!
It all started when I tried Beauty For Real’s True Color lip cream in “Always There”. It arrived in a goodie box from FabFitFun. The luscious lip cream’s opaque better-than-natural-pink hue allured me as it layered on moist color that gave my lips a full and healthy look. I loved the highly pigmented long lasting color that glided on smoothly with a doe foot applicator that really lifted the color out of the tube. (No double-dipping here!) And then I said, “What’s this button here? At the end of the cap...”

Let there be light!
The illumination got me so excited I dropped everything – well not the lipstick! – and made this video. I had to show the world how my prayers were answered – not just because this was a light-up lipstick – but because there was a mirror on the side of the tube too!

I admit, I was born with a deficiency. I lack the gene that allows me to apply lipstick without using a mirror. (And you thought all females were wired with this talent…no!) Now I no longer have to hunt in my bag for a mirror or hope there’s enough light in my car as I use the mirror on the back of my sun visor to reapply my lipstick. Yes, I never leave home without lipstick on. I believe in being a girly girl, and my lips are my vice. Plus, I love leaving lip prints on napkins, it’s a great way to identify my wine glass (Yes, mine’s the one with lipstick on it!), and a kiss isn’t just a kiss when a man can go “mmm” and wonder what that delicious taste is on my lips. (Beauty For Real’s lip creams, and as I learned, lip glosses, smell and taste scrumptious, too!) (Don’t you just hate it when you get a lip product and no matter how much you love the color, you can’t stomach the scent and it’s not lickable! That’s just not like-able! But with Beauty For Real – they’ve got it all goin’ on the right way.)

I posted and tweeted and did all that social media-riffic stuff you do when you get excited about something, and the awesome people at Beauty For Real allowed me to try an Illuminating Lip Gloss in Starlust which made my normal lipstick sparkle as I layered it on top for a bedazzling effect, that left a lickable touch of minty flavor upon kiss-pact. (Kiss-pact is just one better than impact! *~mwah~*) I have to say it was kiss-met, that I encountered this light-up lip gloss that now does double duty in my bag, when I want to click it to shine a light on my keys which always seem to hide in the great abyss of my purse.

Mascara for me has to past 3 tests. First, it needs a straight-ish brush; not one of those curvy brushes that’s going to poke my eye out.
Check! The hourglass shape of Beauty For Real’s wand stands straight so I won’t have any makeup mishaps.
No falsies here! There are my natural (Beauty For) REAL lashes with 3 strokes of Miracle Mascara. The second test is passed when the wand in conjunction with the formulation of the mascara can coat my lashes in less than a minute and make an honest-to-goodness difference in their length, and fullness. Size matters!
And I don’t want to be there all day doing it!
The almost-gel formula of Miracle Mascara glides on lashes thick enough, so all you need is two to three strokes for luscious lash length. The spacing of the bristles on the magic wand allows enough of the mascara to rest on it so it can deliver the long-lasting, non-smudging color to accentuate my eyelids. (P.S. It’s paraben and nasty chemical free so it’s safe for those with sensitive eyes like me!)
The final test of a great mascara is its ability to come off at the end of the night without involving some kind of chemistry experiment, causing my lashes to fall out, or inducing the delayed reaction of having me wake up with raccoon eyes. This mascara is not waterproof, and I applaud that fact! I don’t need a chisel and hammer to get it off of my lashes! But, it is smudge and budge proof until you add gentle eye make-up remover and some old fashioned soap and water. It doesn’t flake off, it rinses off, and easily at that. It almost looks like little tubules of black mascara are released from individual lashes as you use a washcloth and soapy water to remove the remainder of it before bed. I’m down with that…because there’s none of that early-90s ultra smokey involuntary eye makeup under my eyes making me look more ghoulish than glam. No trace is left behind, which is good news, because no one wants to wake up and see darker circles under their eyes than is necessary.

The last amazing product I got to try was Get Glowing Cheek Tint & Luminizer in Goldrush/Afterglow. What’s that you ask?
