Every year, Jersey City is flooded with filmmakers, actors, entertainment industry leaders, celebrities and film aficionados who have been looking forward to the Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF) all year. And this year, they won't be disappointed!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jersey City, September 18 - The festival will take place from 24 -27 September 2015, with the opening and closing nights at the Landmark Loew's Theater and screenings all over the city.

GDIFF received 50% more submissions from over 20 countries, with 21 films centered on autism, as well as several LGBTQ and Latino films. "We are screening 155 films, with feature films and short films spanning several genres, as well as documentaries. So there's a little bit of everything for everyone," says Bill Sorvino, Founder and President of GDIFF. "When I had the dream to start this film festival, I never imagined it would grow so big so quickly. I'm beyond blessed and honored by the support the festival has received from not only the Jersey City community, but from filmmakers who regard it as one of their top choices to submit to and to attend. This year we will be screening the most local films to date," Sorvino continues. Golden Door International Film Festival, now in it's 5th year, is continuing their Autism Awareness and Acceptance efforts. They are not only hosting a special live musical event by the actors from "Autism: The Musical", but Ed Asner will also be speaking at their Autism Awareness event. Ed Asner, a television legend and winner of 7 acting Emmy Awards, with another 13 nominations, is also the former president of the Screen Actors Guild.
The Landmark Loews Theater in Jersey City, NJ hosts the opening and closing nights of GDFF this year.
Part of GDIFF's philosophy is to treat all filmmakers as equals, screening films from both upcoming and veteran filmmakers. In line with this philosophy, they will once again give out the "NJ Filmmakers of Tomorrow Award" in conjunction with the Fort Lee Film Commission for excellence in filmmaking by Hudson County High School filmmakers.
Last year GDFF Board Member actor Paul Sorvino and his wife Dee Dee attended the opening night of the festival.
Film festivals are not only a place to watch some amazing films and to network, but also attracts it's fair share of celebrities. Some of the celebrities who confirmed their attendance to this year's GDIFF include: Annasophia Robb, Famke Janssen, Alysia Reiner, Ed Asner, Matthew Asner, Eric Roberts, Armand Assante, Federico Castelluccio, William Forsythe, Sean Young, Stephen Baldwin and Judd Hirsch.
